Project 5.0 - Restarunt Dublin City North

This project consists of the conversion of Basement and Ground floor levels of an existing protected structure in Dublin’s North Inner city. The building has had many useses over the years however in recient times it had chiefly been used as an arcade & retail space. The design concept strives to address the issue all basement restarunts have in that they become cut off from the ground floor and recieve little to no natural light. This is achieved by creating 2 large voids in the ground floor allowing light to flood the basement restarunt level. It also allows for a passerby to get the full experience of the restarunt from the street, including the open plan kitchen located in the deepest part of the basement plan. This project is moving into planning stage and application is being prepared for Dublin city council.
