The Galway extension project sits alongside a Fairy-Fort in rural Galway along the sea. A key design challenge associated with this site is how to take advantage of the view as the house is located within a depression in the land.

This was addressed by raising the main living space to take advantage of the expansive Galway bay view which is achieved by incorporating a split level ground floor and introducing a special corner window to take advantage of the view.

Boasting a high level of finish and state of the art heating and heat recovery systems, when complete, will be a highly ergonomic, minimally designed home that strives to blur the line between the surrounding landscape and the interior of the open plan extension.

This project was fully designed and project managed by CBDS due to market volatility post covid and increasing main contractor costs. This extension, remodelling and full smart home upgrade is being implemented through various trades and sub-consultants by Conor and is nearing completion.
